<image:caption>Ashness Bridge is a packhorse bridge in the scenic English Lake District. The photograph shows Ashness Bridge and the sparkling water of Barrow Beck, along with plenty of greenery, a glimpse of Derwentwater through the trees and the Skiddaw mountain range in the hazy May sunshine. Ashness Bridge is very popular with walkers such as visitors to the nearby market town of Keswick.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Stepping stones across the River Rothay near Rydal Water on a frosty March morning.
The surroundings here are wonderfully calm and peaceful - the scene is alongside a very pleasant and quiet country lane known as “Under Loughrigg” and in front of the historic and substantial “Stepping Stones” fine property which was once home to William Wordsworth’s son.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Rydal Falls and the summer house which is also known as the Grotto. These falls are the lower falls on Rydal Beck. The summer house has a viewing window which frames the view of the waterfall and many artists have painted the views. The area is in the grounds of Rydal Hall which is the Conference, Retreat and Holiday Centre for the Diocese of Carlisle. The summer house was built by Sir Daniel Fleming in 1668-1669 and is listed Grade II. As well as the summer house, there is much around of historic interest.

I visited for this view on a sunny day in June after 10am once the area had opened to visitors and I also visited the Old School Room Tea Shop which is a lovely place for a rest and some refreshment.</image:caption>
